The council has agreed to keep the 1931 reading room. Our new wing wraps it on two sides and must not take its north light. Plan for 40,000 volumes, a children's floor with its own entrance, and a hall for 120 that can stay open after the library closes.
Budget is fixed. Programme is not, so long as we open before the school year in 2028.
